STEP 19 -SHAVING AND SHAVING DISCOMFORT

broken image

Everyone SHAVES: men shave, women shave. Even kids like to pretend to shave sometimes.

While the areas that men and women shave are very different, getting a close shave and doing so without skin irritation is always a goal for both.

Razor burn is no joke!

Especially when the skin in that area is more sensitive to start with. But making your own shaving cream with Essential Oils can help to soothe and support the skin before the razor even touches it and adding an after-shave lotion or spray can keep the skin calm after the shaving is done.

CLOSE & COMFORTABLE SHAVING CREAM RECIPE

• 1/3 c. Shea Butter

• 1/3 c. Coconut Oil

• 1/4 c. Fractionated Coconut Oil

• 5 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil

• 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 4 drops Melaleuca Essential Oil

• 2 drops Helichrysum Essential Oil

Warm Shea Butter and Coconut Oil until completely melted, then add Fractionated Coconut Oil. Allow to cool slightly and add Essential Oils. Once completely cooled, use an electric mixer or hand mixer to whip until smooth and creamy. Store in an airtight glass jar or container until ready to use. To use: apply a small amount to area to be shaved and shave as normal. Rinse with warm water and pat area dry.

And what about taking care of your skin AFTER your shave?

SOOTHING AFTERSHAVE SPRAY RECIPE

• 10 drops Melaleuca Essential Oil

• 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 5 drops Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

Combine Essential Oils in a 4 oz. spray bottle and top off with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

Shake well before each use. To use: Lightly spray freshly shaven area and massage into skin.

QUESTION – DOES YOUR SKIN BECOME IRRITATED AFTER SHAVING? WHAT HAVE YOU USED IN THE PAST TO SOOTHE THE IRRITATION?
